 I have been checking out Thriftbooks . I have been reading customer posts on  Facebook; their official page and their fan page . It seems interesting. One way to check  them out is to order books from them. This is what I did. The books below is what I ordered.  Here are the three books that I ordered from the Thriftbooks site. They are all by Tim Severin - website on him.  I had ordered three books from the Thriftbooks site. I wanted to see how long it took for them to get to me, how well they are packed and what kind of shape they were when they arrived.  I had ordered them on 2023 / 11 /17. They arrived on 2023 / 11 / 25. I had received texts  from them when the order was received, when it was shipped and when it was expected to have arrived here.   Here is an image I copied from the internet. It is the cover for the Adventures of Tintin. I found a site that has the Adventures of Tintin to download. The site is the Internet Archive . One can download the different books.  It shows them in different formats. They are in Abby GZ, Daisy, EPUB,  full text, item tile, JPEG, PDF, PDF with text, single page processed JP2 zip, torrent. I don't know most of these file formats. The one that I used and like most is the PDF file format. I like it since there is a lot of programs that can open and display PDF files.  I was able to download the different PDF files and will be reading them. It is a great part of my collection of Tintin; which includes DVD's books and large format comic books and a book about the creator of Tintin.  While this is neat, I also recommend getting / acquiring the books on Tinton.   This is an image from the Disney Goofy Adventures section of the Internet Archives site . I had found out about a comic book from Disney called Walt Disney Goofy Adventures. I found this Internet Archives site that had the issues that one could download.  They had them in different formats. The file formats are CHOCR, comic book RAR, comic book zip, full text, HOCR, item tile, JPEG, OCR page index, OCR search text, page number JSON, PDF, single page processed JP2 zip, and torrent.  I chose the PDF file format. One just goes to that section and downloads the files. The PDF files can be read by any program that can open a PDF file. One downloads the issues individually. One can also open them at the site and one can download the zip file version of each. I did all three.  They have a list of the different issues.  I came across this (not sure where - perhaps a video or a website?). It is the Bank of Antarctica. I found it intriguing and did a search for it. Duckduckgo search results . I found their website; Bank of Antarctica . From what I have found online, it is not really a bank but a way to fund and support research. Here is their about page . Tim Severin and the Voyage Series?   Tim Severin   25 September 1940 – 18 December 2020 I first came across Tim Severin in a video about voyage of St Brendan. It was on YouTube - part one ,  part two . I thought it was a fascinating video about the voyage of Saint Brandan. I was unaware of this existence till I saw the 2 videos. I learned about how the attempted and succeeded with their attempt to recreate his journey.  I searched for a book on the St Brendan voyage. I found one on Amazon (actually a few on Amazon). Since I have a Kindle (or did since (  it is now non-functional) and the app on my tablet (it started to fail so I am using the Kindle app on my phone) and bought a copy.  I have seen the Disney Elemental movie on Disney Plus.  I read that it didn't do well at the theaters. I don't know how well it would do at the the streaming service. It is how I watched it.  I have read that one of the characters was supposed to have been 'non-binary'. I didn't notice that in the movie. It is either because I try to watch the movie without being too critical of it or because it might not have been there. Perhaps it failed because someone pre-judged the movie from what others have said about it?  I really enjoyed the movie. It seems to be about immigrants trying to blend in but having reservations because of previous experiences leading to certain biases or prejudices. It shows how they overcome those biases and judgements by getting to know each other. It shows - at the end - how they can overcome prejudices and biases one might have for other groups.  I came across something that is truly unique. It is the Zero Euro Banknote. It resembles money but it isn't money. It is printed like money but one cannot use it as money. It does seem to be used as a souvenir. It seems it is available in places that don't use the Euro as their currency.  Zero Euro Banknotes at Banknote World .
