Tim Severin Books at Thriftbooks?

 I have been checking out Thriftbooks. I have been reading customer posts on 
Facebook; their official page and their fan page. It seems interesting. One way to check 
them out is to order books from them.
This is what I did. The books below is what I ordered. 
Here are the three books that I ordered from the Thriftbooks site.
They are all by Tim Severin - website on him. 


I had ordered three books from the Thriftbooks site. I wanted to see how long it took for them to
get to me, how well they are packed and what kind of shape they were when they arrived. 

I had ordered them on 2023 / 11 /17. They arrived on 2023 / 11 / 25. I had received texts 
from them when the order was received, when it was shipped and when it was expected to have arrived here. It arrived when they indicated that it would. 

They were packed quite well. There was no damage to the books when
I opened the shipping package. I opened the books and there was no damage
to any of the three inside. 

I have these books as ebooks that I can read on my Kindle app on my phone. 
They seem to have more content (haven't really compared the ebook to the pbook 
yet but will in the near future). 

I think the prices at Thriftbooks is very good; at least reasonable. One way to see what the prices 
are like is to check out the site and look for books. What is reasonable to one 
person might not be reasonable to another.  I think - IMO - that it is
worth what they charge for them. 

I have heard of others having received a bookmark and a card for wine from Naked Wines.
I liked the bookmark but I don't drink but I can give that to someone who does
(never cared for alcohol beverages but that is a different story). 
The bookmark has the word 'thrilling' spelled vertically. I am not
sure what that is supposed to mean but it is a nice bookmark. 

Once I read the books, I will do another post about them; whither it is 
the ebook or the pbook. I am reading other books too and will do reviews of them 
once I am completed reading them. This blog is my 'whatever I feel like blogging' blog.

Tortola - Fantasy Banknotes

  Currently I am into fantasy banknotes; especially ones with a picture of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd on them (it would be neat to see some with Lady Di on them but have not found them, yet). I found these on eBay with the search words ' fantasy banknotes ' (some of them were kind of 'revealing').  This one is Tortola . I thought it was made up but it seems it does exist. I don't know if they have their own banknotes but it would be cool if they looked like these. I think these look and feel like current European banknotes. I think they are really well done. Book On George Washington Carver By Tonya Bolden

          I found a book on the life of George Washington Carver  (Wikipedia link). It was not overly detailed but it does talk about his life and accomplishments. I think there are some really nice illustrations and photos in it.           I think it is great for those who want to learn about George Washington Carver but might not have a lot of time to read about him or just have a passing interest in him.           It was an easy read and it was also informative. It could lead someone to read more about him. I have an ebook on him that has more details about his life (subject of another post / blog).          I found it at the Thriftbooks (they have a lot of books at great prices) for a great price (not many left at the site - just click on the link). Barbuda - Fantasy Banknotes

  I think that I might have gotten carried away; especially on fantasy banknotes that have a picture of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd on them. I have found some like this on eBay .  One of these are the Barbuda fantasy banknotes. I think they are really cool looking and look so real; like European ones that they have now. I thought it was a place that didn't exist but it seems that it does; Barbuda . I do not know if they have their own money but it would be cool if it looked like this.  I think it looks really neat. I like how it has a picture of Queen Elizabeth the 2nd on them. It is one of the reasons I got them. I think this is the front of them.  I believe this is the bank of them.
