Tim Severin; the Explorer?

Image
Here is a photo of Tim Severin.  I first saw a video of one of his adventures on YouTube. It was really fascinating. It led me to check out other videos and to check out his books. I think he is fascinating.  I think that reading his books and watching his videos, one is partaking in his adventures. In reading and watching, it is almost like you are there experiencing the adventure too.  I found his books as both ebooks and pbooks. I am reading a few of his books on my Kindle app on my phone (ordered via the Amazon Kindle store ). I also ordered a few of his books from an online store (the online bookstore is Thriftbooks [good prices and it was shipped / packed well] - I am checking other online and offline book stores to see who has it).  I found a website that is dedicated to him; Tim Severin .  It has a section on his biography . It has a section on his books ( expeditions , Viking series , pirate series , Saxon series ).  There is a section on his films .  There is a section on

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Here is the front of the book. Here is the back of the book. I found this book in the used book section of the Jabberwocky  Bookshop - located at the Tannery Market Place in Newburyport MA - and it was for sale.  It was published by Flame Tree Publishing . I think it is neat that they would rather preserve it then adapt it to 'todays sensibilities' since there might be language that might 'offend someone'. I am checking out their site and their other books. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at their website. ' This beautiful new edition collects together the best of L. Frank Baum’s Oz works, taking material from the very first 1900 publication of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and subsequent novels including Ozma of Oz, Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz and The Lost Princess of Oz.' (copied from the description from their site). It has a hard cover. It seems rather sturdy. I like the illustrations in it and the size of the print. I think I got th

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Desitiny?

Image
My brother watched the Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny at the theater. I watched it on the Disney Plus streamer service. My brother said it was good when he saw it at the theater. I think it was good when I saw it on the streaming service. Neither could really understand why it didn't do well.  I think it was altered from what it would have been to what it was when we saw it. I think it was very improved after the alterations. I am glad that Indiana Jones was not replaced. I am hoping that they either retire Indiana Jones (by Harrison Ford) or have a young guy play the part.  Some might have worried how she got Jones home at the end. I think she got help from those in that time era. I think she got help by those who were there when they arrived back in their own time.  I think it did not long for action. It was filled with action. It kept us at the end of our seats. I think everyone should give it a try. I think they would like it. TomLeeM 2023 / 12 / 02 Indiana Mullins
