The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at the Jaberwocky at the Tannery Mall in Newburyport MA
Here is the front of the book.
Here is the back of the book.
I found this book in the used book section of the Jabberwocky Bookshop - located at the Tannery Market Place in Newburyport MA - and it was for sale.
It was published by Flame Tree Publishing. I think it is neat that they would rather preserve it then adapt it to 'todays sensibilities' since there might be language that might 'offend someone'. I am checking out their site and their other books. The Wonderful Wizard of Oz at their website.
'This beautiful new edition collects together the best of L. Frank Baum’s Oz works, taking material from the very first 1900 publication of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and subsequent novels including Ozma of Oz, Dorothy and the Wizard in Oz and The Lost Princess of Oz.'
(copied from the description from their site).
It has a hard cover. It seems rather sturdy. I like the illustrations in it and the size of the print.
I think I got the only copy in the used book section. I didn't check the new book section to see if there was any copies there.
I will do another blog about it once I have completed reading it. I think I will enjoy reading a classic book / tale as this.
I love shopping for books at the Jabberwocky Bookshop. They have so many good and great books at good and great prices. The bookshop itself has an 'old world charm' that I think one rarely - if ever - find at new bookshops. It helps me to shop locally too.
