Bank of Antarctica and My Experience With Them
I saw a video on YouTube by Half Asleep Chris on the banknotes by the Bank of Antarctica.

I think he did the video quite well and was very informative on the subject plus very entertaining; in my opinion. The video made the banknotes sound really cool. It made me want to check them out.
The Bank of Antarctica has 8 section in their store (in a different earlier blog, I show pictures of some of the different 'banks'. to go to the section of that store, just click on the name below).
1 - Antarctica
2 - Easter Island
3 - Kerguelen
5 - Galapagos
In each of the sections of the store, there are different denominations and different prices. I have seen them all and I think they are really well done. It is like portable art. It is why I chose to buy some from each section so I can see for myself what they are like. This is my blog on some of the ones I received.
I had ordered some in October of 2023. I tried to get the least expensive one from each group; sometimes two. I went by the photos (follow the links above for each section to see the photos) and thought they looked really cool.
I tried using the contact page at their site about my order. I don't believe I ever received a reply from their website. I would ask about my order and made suggestions of possible future fantasy banknotes (like making ones for the City of Atlantis, etc.).
I found an address at their contact page. I sent a couple of letters to them about my order but have not received a reply - via postal mail - from them. I have not received any letters being undeliverable; therefore, I assume it is still an active address.
I sent an e-mail - one that was listed on the contact page of their site) asking about them in November and December of 2023 asking about my order. Their site indicates it would be 8 weeks because of COVID. Since I didn't know where exactly they would be mailed from, I didn't know if COVID was still affecting their area.
It seemed to take a while to get back to me but they did. I was told how cold it was in British Columbia (below freezing). I was told it was mailed only to find out later it was never posted. In the last e-mail from them (I asked if they would notify me when it was actually mailed), they indicated it was posted. I received part of my order (I was told that some were in a different location and would be mailed from there - I don't know how long that will be but I am glad I was able to receive what I did).
I am glad I was able to get a response from him; otherwise, I would assume it was a scam since I didn't get them or receive a reply of any kind. I am glad it wasn't a scam.
Here is a photo of the backs of the different banknotes from the Bank of Antarctica. I think they are really cool. I thought they would never going to arrive but I am glad they did. It is like portable works of art. I believe this is 'part one' of the shipment. If there is a 'part two', it has not arrived, yet.
The two photos are ones I took with my phone after I had received them. This is just in case someone else has a problem getting theirs and think I might have gotten them online somewhere.
This is the front of the banknotes that I received from the Bank of Antarctica. I think they are really cool looking and well made.
It was received on 2024/02/08 and was packed really well (different address on the return address part).
I hope others who order theirs won't have to wait as long as I did to get theirs. I wonder if those selling them on eBay (I searched eBay and found a few either selling them or having them up for bids) had to wait as long as I did?
I have also found that there are other sites that sell them too (just the ones I found - a short list - might be more);
I think they are worth the wait (I think the store is done as a part time thing for the person running it - as implied by one of the e-mails I received from him).
