A Haunting In Venice; Book vs Movie?
Haunting in Venice movie poster
I finished reading the book A Haunting in Venice by Agatha Christie (the book was originally called Halloween). I saw the movie by the same name. I compared the two. The book is way different from the movie. The book was a mystery. The movie was a horror mystery. There were things in the movie that wasn't in the movie. There were things in the movie that wasn't in the book. I preferred the book over the movie. I think the book should have kept the name Halloween and not be changed. The movie was based very loosely on the book. The book was really good but the movie was so-so.
this is a photo of the book I bought from
the Jabberwocky Bookshop at the Tannery Marketplace
The book was a murder mystery. I think it would is what Agatha Christie would have written. I don't think she would have written the movie version; in my opinion. The book was originally Halloween. They should never have changed the name of the book. It implies that the movie was based on it. The movie is similar but the story and plot was changed to a degree that it is not really the same.
If you watch the movie, don't read the book. If you read the book don't watch the movie. I have a feeling one might be disappointed with one or the other.
This is just my opinion. You might have a different opinion on it. We all see things differently.
